Buckle & Latch Branding and Web Design

This project was to design a logo, landing page, and brand identity for a single-person small business. As a Child Passenger Safety Technician, Britney wanted a cheerful style that could balance being highly approachable with being professional enough that parents would trust her with the safety of their small children. 

Since Britney is maintaining the website and social media presence herself, I gave her templates for Instagram posts and stories, and clear brand standards that would be easy for her to apply. Her logo is modular so that she can use the icon as an avatar image or as a full lockup, and I also provided alternate logo layouts at her request. We did a video call where I walked her through the basics of keeping her design balanced and clean. Since this re-brand, she’s had much better engagement on Instagram and a higher rate of referrals. 

Logo development for me always begins with a sketchbook full of thumbnails and the belief that no idea is a bad idea. I put all my ideas down in pencil and ink before moving to digital design.
